PhD position in polymer chemistry is open in Synytska´s Lab

Goal
The development of amperometric biosensors is vitally important for medical diagnosis, for monitoring of health and environment, for food and drug analysis. The performance of such sensors strongly depends on their building elements and on the way how bioactive molecules are incorporated in the working electrode. The goal of this project is the design of organic-inorganic particles with tailor-made chemical/physical functionalities and their integration into materials for sensorics.
Required background
- Expertise in preparative polymer or organic chemistry.
- Knowledge in surface modification and polymerization techniques via ATRP, RAFT, etc.
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment and undertake experimental research.
- Excellent analysis skills and an analytical mindset.
- An ability to work independently and simultaneously as a member of a research team.
- Ability to review and engage with interdisciplinary studies.
- A strong motivation for science and proficient written and oral communication skills in English are crucial for successfully completing this challenging project.
